The man who could have answered some of the biggest open questions about the United States legacy UFO program is dead. His name is now public, and the lawmaker who was scheduled to interview him is publicly questioning the circumstances of his death.

According to a Liberation Times report by journalist Christopher Sharp published on April 24, 2026, the late United States Air Force intelligence officer Matthew Sullivan was allegedly involved in the legacy UFO program. Sullivan died in 2024 before he could speak with congressional investigators. Representative Eric Burlison has stated publicly that Sullivan was scheduled for an interview, and within two weeks of that scheduled meeting he was found dead from what authorities ruled a self-inflicted gunshot.

Sources told Liberation Times that Sullivan was directly involved in the technology side of an alleged effort tied to a vehicle suspected to be of non-human origin. That work was carried out for a private corporation operating with a United States intelligence agency, although his involvement reportedly began during his service as an Air Force officer. David Grusch, the well-known Air Force whistleblower, had been in contact with Sullivan and was helping him come forward. The two men served together inside the Air Force.

Sullivan served at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and the Air Force Intelligence Agency, and he deployed to United States Central Command and United States Indo-Pacific Command. His funeral was attended by Major General David Abba, who served from 2021 to 2024 as Director of Special Programs at the Department of Defense Special Access Program Central Office. Abba supervised Sullivan at Langley Air Force Base and described him at the funeral as the brightest intelligence lieutenant he had ever met, a man who matured into one of the leading thinkers on hard issues with enormous implications for the country.

The Sullivan story did not stand alone this week. At the National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, David Grusch joined a panel alongside Representative Burlison, former NASA official Mike Gold, and Rod Roddenberry. According to the Weaponized broadcast, this was understood to be the first UAP focused panel ever held at the symposium. Grusch told the audience that there are anomalous signatures in the skies, that the United States government understands these represent a form of sentient non-human intelligence, and that the government holds decades of recovered material that has not been reported to Congress.
