The House Oversight Committee has given four federal agencies a one-week window to explain what happened to 11 Americans who had access to the country’s most guarded aerospace secrets. According to the letters released Monday by Chairman James Comer and Representative Eric Burlison, the deadline for the FBI, NASA, the Department of War, and the Department of Energy to respond is April 27. A detail buried in those letters is drawing attention. Retired Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland and Jet Propulsion Laboratory engineer Monica Reza worked together in the early 2000s on an Air Force funded program developing advanced materials for reusable space vehicles and weapons. That connection has not been publicly explained. McCasland vanished in February. Reza vanished on a hike in June 2025.

According to Fox News, Comer said this week that the facts would suggest something sinister could be happening, stopping short of accusing any specific actor. NASA pushed back the same day, with spokesperson Bethany Stevens posting on X that nothing related to the agency indicates a national security threat. Then on April 17, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the administration is working with the FBI on a holistic review, stating that no stone will be unturned. Three different messages in forty eight hours, which is why the April 27 deadline matters.

The Daily Mail confirmed on Friday that Burlison has formally asked FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate the 2024 death of former Air Force intelligence officer Matthew Sullivan as potential foul play. Sullivan’s case had been sitting with a local Virginia medical examiner since May 2024. Reference reporting from the Daily Mail confirms that David Grusch, who worked alongside Sullivan and now serves as a senior advisor to Burlison’s task force, has been driving the timeline.

In an interview with Benny Johnson, Burlison described a metallic silver orb he has seen on classified video, saying it looked like an aluminum beach ball and had no wings, no balloon properties, and maneuvered in ways he could not explain. He also described balls of plasma that hover and wink out. According to Burlison, the most disturbing briefing he has received involved a military base where multiple objects appeared at once and evaded capture.

According to The Liberty Line, on the night of April 8, civilian witnesses at Rainbow Lakes in Fairborn, Ohio, filmed a triangular cluster of glowing objects moving silently before splitting apart mid flight. The location is four miles from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, which McCasland commanded from 2011 to 2013. Neither Wright Patterson nor the Pentagon has commented. On April 17, Tennessee Representative Andy Ogles posted publicly that he has seen evidence so classified that just knowing it exists makes him a target. The All domain Anomaly Resolution Office, known as AARO, has said most UAP incidents can be explained as conventional objects, while acknowledging a small number remain unresolved.
