The Religious War Blocking Trump’s UFO Files

Trump ordered it. The Pentagon said it would comply. But weeks later, UFO files remain unreleased — and the reason may have less to do with national security than with something far older. Angels. Demons. And the fear of what happens when government confirmation meets religious belief.
According to reporting published in February 2026 by the International Business Times, filmmaker and UAP researcher Mark Christopher Lee claims a Washington source warned him directly of massive internal pushback inside parts of the Pentagon. The core of that resistance, according to those sources, is not about classified technology or foreign adversaries. It is about what some officials believe these objects actually are. Not extraterrestrial craft. Not foreign surveillance. But interdimensional entities — and for officials inside certain religious circles, that word carries a far darker meaning.

For some Evangelical communities within the defense and intelligence world, interdimensional is not a scientific term. It is a theological one. It points toward beings that exist outside physical reality — beings that multiple religious traditions have historically called angels, demons, or fallen ones. The idea that the United States government could officially confirm the existence of non-human intelligence, and that such intelligence might align with what the Bible describes as spiritual warfare, has reportedly made certain officials deeply uncomfortable. Uncomfortable enough to push back against the president’s own directive.
Congressman Eric Burlison has pointed out that David Grusch’s own public report already references the interdimensional theory as part of the classified conversation. Burlison has been direct about what that means through a religious lens. In his view, what multiple ancient texts describe as angels or messengers of God and what intelligence officials are now calling interdimensional beings may be one and the same. Representative Anna Paulina Luna has gone further, publicly referencing the Book of Enoch — an ancient text excluded from the modern Bible — when discussing the nature of UAP phenomena. Congressman Tim Burchett has referenced the Book of Ezekiel, describing the wheel within a wheel in Chapter 1 as what ancient people saw and described using the only language available to them.

These are sitting members of Congress who have been inside the classified briefings, who have seen photographs and videos inside SCIFs — Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities — and who are connecting what they have seen to something that goes well beyond physics and aerospace.
The concern runs deeper still. Some critics are now raising constitutional questions. If government officials are suppressing UAP data specifically because it intersects with religious interpretations of angels, demons, or spiritual entities, that raises serious questions about where legitimate state secrecy ends and religious influence on policy begins.
Senator John Kennedy stated publicly during a State of the Union night broadcast with Benny Johnson that he is not certain everything known about UAPs has ever been communicated to sitting presidents. Career officials who answer to no election, no approval rating, and no term limit have every reason to keep what they know exactly where it is. If what they know points toward something that reframes the spiritual beliefs of billions of people, that incentive to stay silent becomes something else entirely.
A whistleblower press conference is expected in Washington on May 1, 2026. Congressman Eric Burlison has hinted for months that someone new is preparing to come forward. Whatever that person brings with them, the battle being fought inside the Pentagon right now is not simply bureaucratic. It is a collision between government transparency and thousands of years of religious belief — and so far, belief appears to be winning.
