Pentagon Confirms UFO File Release Is Underway

The United States government moved closer to UAP disclosure this week as both the Pentagon and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence publicly committed to action under a directive from President Trump. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth confirmed on camera that his office is actively working to identify and release government files on UAP, UFOs, and extraterrestrial life, stating the Pentagon would be in full compliance with Trump’s order, though he offered no specific timeline. His response came after Trump posted on Truth Social directing Hegseth and other agencies to begin the process, a post Hegseth publicly reshared with an alien emoji and a saluting emoji.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard confirmed her office has already declassified over half a million government documents in a single year under Trump’s day one executive orders, and separately stated in an X post that files related to UAP, UFOs, and extraterrestrial life will also be released.  During her January 2025 Senate confirmation hearing, she cited UAP as one of several intelligence failures she intended to address. In an August 2025 interview on Pod Force One, when asked directly whether she believes aliens could exist, Gabbard answered yes, adding that in her role she must be careful about what she shares. She also raised ongoing questions about the wave of drone sightings over New Jersey and New York in late 2024, stating she had heard the official explanation but personally still had unanswered questions, and noted the sightings were not limited to New Jersey alone.

Meanwhile, the United States Space Force, established in December 2019 and now operating with a budget of nearly 40 billion dollars in fiscal year 2026, operates some of the most advanced sensor and detection systems in the U.S. military. With its entire mission focused on monitoring the space domain, researchers and analysts are beginning to ask whether the Space Force may quietly hold more UAP-relevant data than any other branch.

Congressional pressure is also building. As noted in recent reporting, Representatives Anna Paulina Luna and James Comer sent formal letters to Hegseth and other senior officials requesting UAP briefings by a set deadline. 

Luna also posted on X that UAP files will soon be made available through the National Archives. Filmmaker and researcher Jeremy Corbell, appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored, added that an active debate is currently taking place at the Pentagon and White House centered on whether radical honesty should form the basis of any public statement, covering four areas including formal admissions of what is known and unknown, acknowledgment that humanity is not alone, and a clear explanation of why secrecy was maintained for decades.
