Law That Keeps UFO Materials Hidden From Congress - UFO Disclosure

The Department of Energy, known primarily for regulating light bulbs and nuclear power, has been operating covert UFO crash retrieval programs for decades using specialized teams that remain unknown to most Pentagon officials. These startling revelations emerged from UAP researcher Gerb’s recent interview on the Danny Jones podcast, where he detailed extensive evidence of government UFO recovery operations spanning from Peru to the Atlantic Ocean depths.
According to Gerb’s research, the most compelling case involves former Marine Jonathan Weygandt’s 1997 encounter during Operation Laser Strike, a classified anti-narcotics mission in Peru. Weyant reportedly discovered a 20-meter egg-shaped craft wedged into a granite cliff face, leaking a syrup-like fluid that permanently discolored his uniform and removed hair from his body. According to testimony documented by Gerb, the craft had three hatches, one open with what appeared to be a non-human arm hanging from it. Within minutes of discovery, unmarked helicopters arrived carrying Department of Energy (DOE) personnel in hazmat suits.
The connection between the DOE and UFO recovery operations runs deeper through the Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST). According to Gerb, while NEST publicly handles nuclear emergencies, evidence suggests their classified mission includes UFO crash retrieval. The 1954 Atomic Energy Act, which established nuclear secrecy protocols, is specifically mentioned in recent UAP disclosure amendments as the legal framework hiding UFO materials. According to Gerb’s analysis, anything potentially extraterrestrial gets classified as “trans-classified foreign nuclear material,” placing it beyond normal declassification processes.

The DOE’s involvement gained congressional attention during a May 2024 oversight hearing when
Representative Anna Paulina Luna directly questioned Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm about UAP activities. According to the congressional record, Luna asked about documented sightings of metallic spheres over DOE facilities, including a specific April 30, 2019 incident over Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Granholm responded with “I have no knowledge of that” when asked about reverse engineering programs, though she agreed to provide follow-up answers in writing.

Contrary to public claims by tech billionaire Elon Musk about having access to all classified programs and seeing no evidence of aliens, Gerb states this is “complete nonsense.” According to Gerb, even billionaires with government contracts don’t automatically receive access to the most classified UFO programs, which operate under strict need-to-know compartmentalization. Musk would only have access to specific programs requiring his direct involvement.
Perhaps the most shocking revelation involves the National Underwater Recovery Reconnaissance Office (NURO), an agency so classified that according to Gerb, even Navy admirals remain unaware of its existence. Gerb reports speaking with admirals who had never heard of NURO until he provided documentation. According to Jeffrey T. Richelson’s book “The Intelligence Community,” which Gerb recommends, NURO activities are more sensitive than even the National Reconnaissance Office operations.
Former Admiral Bobby Ray Inman, who served as Director of Naval Intelligence, CIA Deputy Director, and NSA Director, finally admitted in a 2018 university speech that he directed NURO but still couldn’t discuss its activities. According to Gerb, Inman revealed he wore “another hat” as NURO director when serving as Director of Naval Intelligence, and mentioned getting in trouble previously for discussing the organization.

According to testimony documented by Gerb, NURO operations include a 2002 case where a former Marine diver claimed his deep submergence rescue vehicle crew recovered a 70-foot triangular craft from the North Atlantic seafloor. The object reportedly contained hieroglyphic writing along its edges and had been buried in the seafloor for an estimated 30 to 40 years before recovery.
The research also reveals alleged reverse-engineering programs involving “flux liners,” craft supposedly based on Roswell technology. According to aerospace illustrator Mark McCandlish’s sources, particularly Brad Sorson, these vehicles were displayed at classified exhibits. Sorson described them as crude human attempts to recreate alien technology using F-4 Phantom seats and commercial-grade acrylic bubbles. Both McCandlish and documentary filmmaker James Allen died under suspicious circumstances after working on projects exposing these programs.

Perhaps most disturbing are the alleged psychic operations programs. According to testimony gathered by Gerb, programs exist attempting to use human consciousness to interact with UFOs, either forcing them to land or targeting them for destruction. The research reveals that Jake Barber was tasked with infiltrating Steven Greer’s disclosure efforts, though questions remain about whether Greer was aware of Barber’s intelligence connections.
The 1954 Atomic Energy Act continues shielding these programs from oversight, creating what researchers term “boring classified” information that bypasses normal democratic processes. According to Gerb’s investigation, agencies like DOE’s NEST and the Navy’s NURO operate in shadows so deep their existence is barely acknowledged, even within government circles.
These revelations paint a picture of extensive UFO-related activities operating within established government agencies, using existing legal frameworks to maintain secrecy. Whether representing the greatest cover-up in human history or an elaborate disinformation campaign, the evidence suggests UFO-related programs continue operating far beyond public awareness or congressional oversight.
