Representative Anna Paulina Luna, Chair of the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, made statements about a major shift in how Congress is approaching UAP disclosure. Speaking on Keeping It Real with Jillian Michaels, Luna confirmed that the Trump administration is serious about releasing UAP files, referencing unexplained footage released through her committee and disclosing that an agency — specifically not the CIA — maintains its own internal UAP task force. According to reporting from Politico, confirmed in early 2025, the FBI operates a secret UAP Working Group of more than a dozen agents dedicated to investigating UAP reports — a detail that aligns with Luna’s description. Former UAP Task Force Director Jay Stratton confirmed in a May 2025 public statement that the FBI was among his first partners when building the original task force, with involvement spanning years.
Luna’s relationship with the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, known as AARO, has been openly adversarial. After a classified briefing with AARO’s acting director in April 2024, she publicly called the session a “nothingburger.” By September 2025, she had called former AARO director Sean Kirkpatrick a “documented liar” on the congressional record, and read into that same record a critique from former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Christopher Mellon, who described AARO’s historical report as the most error-ridden government document he had encountered in decades of service. As of March 22nd, 2026, Luna posted on X that she will be recommending to DOGE — the Department of Government Efficiency — that AARO be completely disbanded and defunded. This came the same week AARO publicly announced it is coordinating UAP declassification under Trump’s directive.

On the legal front, David Grusch has filed a new federal lawsuit — Grusch versus the United States Department of Defense in the Eastern District of Virginia. This is entirely separate from his previously reported case against the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, which was dismissed in August 2025. According to constitutional litigator Daniel Sheehan, speaking on SpectreVision Radio, Grusch filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Department of Defense seeking documents to support his 2023 congressional testimony — in which he stated under oath that the government holds non-human origin craft and that biological remains of occupants have been confirmed as non-human through DNA testing. The Department of Defense did not respond at all. The lawsuit now demands a court ruling that the DoD acted unlawfully and a court order compelling the release of those documents.
