Deadliest Missile Fired on UFO. Pentagon Refuses Comment

The Pentagon has entered lockdown mode following the release of classified footage showing a U.S. Hellfire missile apparently bouncing off an unidentified aerial phenomenon near Yemen. The video, unveiled during Tuesday’s congressional UAP hearing by Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.), has generated more questions than answers as defense officials refuse to authenticate or discuss the incident.

According to ABC News Pentagon reporter Luis Martinez, when he requested official comment on the October 30, 2024 footage, defense officials responded with “we have nothing for you.” A separate Department of Defense spokesperson similarly stated “I have nothing for you” when pressed for details. Martinez noted during his ABC News report that while this type of non-response is typical when officials want to avoid discussing sensitive matters, it also suggests they are investigating how the classified video was leaked to Congress.

The footage itself presents a striking scenario. As reported by NewsNation, the black and white video shows what appears to be a UFO being struck by a Hellfire missile fired from a U.S. military drone off the coast of Yemen. According to Burlison’s testimony to NewsNation, he received the video through an anonymous “dead drop” with all identifying information scrubbed. “I received it anonymously in a way in which I’ve learned is called the dead drop,” Burlison explained. “The video was scrubbed from all information… there’s nothing to trace back to, and I have no idea who gave it to me.”

Multiple defense sources cited in the hearing confirmed that the missile struck the object but bounced off, with the craft continuing to fly after impact. Military experts testifying at the hearing stated that no known U.S. technology could survive a direct Hellfire strike. Reference to Military.com confirms that “the Hellfire missile is capable of defeating any known tank in the world today,” underscoring the unusual nature of an object surviving such an impact.

The incident highlights broader transparency issues between Congress and the Pentagon regarding UAP information. According to Burlison’s testimony to NBC News, when his committee attempted to obtain briefings on UAP information from the Department of Defense, “we were told that we don’t hold access authority and that we had to be a part of certain committees, but that’s not true.” He emphasized that oversight is “the overarching branch of Congress that actually has investigative authorities into every single sector and branch of government.”

The stonewalling extends to whistleblower protection concerns. As referenced in Burlison’s NBC News interview, many potential witnesses fear being prosecuted under the Espionage Act, especially those in intelligence community positions. The congressman revealed that his committee plans to vote on granting immunity to certain individuals so they can share what they know without legal repercussions.

International cooperation on UAP investigations is also developing. According to Rep. Anna Paulina Luna’s statements to NewsNation, over 300 pages of documentation will be submitted to the congressional record for public review. Luna addressed concerns about potential Russian disinformation, noting that multiple countries including Mexico and Brazil have announced similar parliamentary hearings and launched their own UAP task forces. “We’re not the only country that’s actually looked into this,” Luna stated, suggesting a coordinated global response validates the legitimacy of these investigations.

The timing proves significant given ongoing military operations in the Yemen region. If U.S. military assets engaged an unknown object that survived a missile strike, standard military protocol would typically generate extensive after-action reports and briefings. The Pentagon’s refusal to acknowledge or discuss the incident raises questions about what additional information remains classified.

The congressional hearing represents part of a broader push for UAP transparency led by the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets. As Burlison noted in his testimony, the classification level applied to the Yemen video appears excessive, and he believes more information should be released to the American people. The incident underscores the ongoing tension between government secrecy and congressional oversight in an area where transparency advocates argue the public has a right to know about potential national security implications.
