Baltic Sea Anomaly CONFIRMED Not Natural by Scientists

After 15 years of ridicule, death threats, and academic rejection, Swedish treasure hunter Dennis Asperg has finally obtained the scientific validation he sought. In June 2025, Stockholm University deployed a research vessel to investigate the Baltic Sea Anomaly, and according to the American Alchemy interview with Jesse Michels, the findings confirm what Asperg has maintained since 2011: this 60-meter-wide object sitting 90 meters below the Baltic Sea is not a natural geological formation.
The breakthrough came through sub-bottom profiling technology, which uses acoustic waves to penetrate sediment layers and map subsurface structures. This radar-like system revealed that the object sits on top of the seabed, completely separated from the geological layers beneath it. The Stockholm University team used multi-beam sonar alongside this technology to confirm the object appears to have been placed there rather than formed naturally. Dennis has committed to making all data publicly available regardless of the conclusions.
The object was first discovered in June 2011 when Asperg’s Ocean X team was searching for a champagne-laden shipwreck. The circular object appeared on their side-scan sonar around 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. His crew initially laughed it off, joking about it being a UFO. However, after showing the sonar images to marine professionals across the United States, Australia, and Europe, no one could identify it. Veteran diver Stefan Hogerborn, who reached the object in 2012 after conducting thousands of dives in his career, called it the most important dive of his life.
What makes the structure particularly anomalous are its features. The object has flat walls, corridors, and 90-degree angles covering 3,000 square meters of ocean floor. When Hogerborn brushed away sediment during his 2012 dive, he found a dark gray, almost black surface too hard to extract samples from. He also reported water temperatures near zero degrees Celsius at the site, which should be impossible at 90 meters depth where normal Baltic Sea temperatures measure between 4 and 5 degrees. Perhaps most unusual is a 20-centimeter hole with a frame around it, where divers observed sediment moving in and out in a rhythmic pattern, as if the object were breathing. Laboratory tests in Israel confirmed organic burned material near the object, despite the Baltic Sea being essentially dead at that location with no biological activity.

The electromagnetic anomalies documented across multiple expeditions make the whole thing even stranger. Every expedition has experienced the same equipment failures. Remotely operated vehicles stop working, cameras and lights shut down, and GPS systems fail when positioned above the object. During the June 2025 Stockholm University expedition, Captain Thomas, who had never experienced equipment problems before, reported GPS failure the moment they positioned above the anomaly. Dennis also documented radar showing phantom ships appearing and disappearing on screen in clear weather with perfect conditions.
Military interest in the site raises further questions. According to Dennis’s testimony to Swedish military headquarters in Stockholm, he filmed six to seven NATO vessels from France, Germany, Britain, and the United States encircling the site during earlier expeditions. A Swedish naval corvette also approached and stopped in their dive pattern despite having no operational reason to be in Finnish economic waters. When Dennis presented this footage to military officials, they denied ever being at the location. The only expedition without military surveillance was the June 2025 survey aboard the Swedish government-owned research vessel, leading Dennis to suspect someone onboard may have been reporting directly to authorities.
