Tom DeLonge Now Advises the Government on UFO Files

At San Diego Comic-Con, Blink-182 co-founder Tom DeLonge was there to promote a cartoon when he made a claim that reached far past the convention floor. Asked about the declassified UAP files of the last few years, DeLonge said it was a big deal and that he is an active consultant to the US government on the subject right now, adding that this is only the beginning. He tied the comment to the show he was promoting, named Breaking Bear, saying his company is one of the producing groups behind it, and stated that the reason the public hears about UFOs in the news at all is because of him and his company.

DeLonge left Blink-182 in 2015 to chase one question, which is what the government knows about objects in our skies. In 2017 he launched To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science with former defense and intelligence officials, including Luis Elizondo and Christopher Mellon. That same year, according to the New York Times, To The Stars helped bring the now famous Navy videos into public view, footage tied to a secret Pentagon study program known as AATIP that Elizondo once ran. To The Stars also held a formal research agreement with a division of the US Army, and the Navy later confirmed the videos were real and never cleared for release. At the same time, To The Stars is at its core an entertainment company, and DeLonge was at a convention selling a product, so both facts sit side by side.

One name deepens the story. Retired Major General Neil McCasland, who ran the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, later worked with DeLonge as a consultant on military and scientific matters. According to Fox News and NewsNation, McCasland walked out of his New Mexico home in late February and disappeared, only days after President Trump ordered agencies to identify and release government UFO files. His wife said his clearances were old and his tie to DeLonge was minor. DeLonge’s connections also reach back to 2016, when leaked emails, reference the WikiLeaks release, showed him in contact with John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, at a time when many believed that if Clinton won she might open and release the UFO files.

Finally, on NewsNation, investigative journalist Ross Coulthart argued the recent wave of whistleblowers is coordinated and racing against the clock. And his reasoning is a political one. The midterms are in November, forecasters currently favor Democrats to retake the House, and if that holds, the president loses leverage to push UFO disclosure. Coulthart wants Trump to grant blanket immunity so witnesses can speak to the public directly, rather than only through channels such as AARO and the PURSUE office. Whether that order gets signed before November may decide if disclosure moves now or waits years.
